Aksys released Blazblue this week and I must say the game is good. After playing it for a few hours the overall ease of play mixed with advance player techniques has quickly enthralled me. The chracters are offer many similarities to guilty gear but show there own style in many ways. This post will end here so I can go back and get that wheel of fate turning.
So this years EVO has a new qualifying round at gamestop. Now yes first thing I think of is how some random person is going to win and compete in Vegas at EVO against real pro players. Then I realized pro players will take advantage of the gamestop EZmode tournament to guarantee a spot at EVO. So if you are a pro player please plan ahead so you and your friends can go to different stores and get your guaranteed spot at EVO.
So I have been counting down the days until the SF4 console release and with only 14 days left I must say the excitement is nostalgic. I remember checking my local arcades to see which one had the latest capcom fighter. I would drive to both arcades after school and play fighters until I had to be home for dinner. The fact that a game can completely bring that feeling back to me is amazing in this time of casual gaming. The only part that is missing is the trip to the arcade meeting up with different people and talking smack and making new friends. Sure my friends and I will get together and have a cookout and play fighters for hours but something about placing the quarter up on the cabinet and patiently waiting your turn sizing up the other players as one by one they fall to a single person. That experince is something I am hoping this game can recreate, minus the quarter of course. So since all I can do is wait the only thing I can say is…. I Got Next!
